Last Day
This morning Channa and I had a little photo shoot with our host family. Usually at the end of a cycle counterpart pairs have photos taken with their host families which are then given, framed, to the host family. We obviously don't get to do that now because of timings, so we got up a bit earlier this morning and took some photos:
I finished the debrief report at 5 ish and then the TLs got us to play a counterpart game where we sat back to back and they read out statements and we had to say who we thought it most applied to. For example "Who sings the most?" - both Channa and I said me, "Who eats the most?" - both Channa and I said her. We came joint second because we both said the other was more likely to be famous... but I'll take getting one wrong out of about 12.
After that, because we haven't been able to get our team t shirt yet (would have happened in a couple of weeks) the TLs had bought us little books to write in for each other - notes and good wishes and stuff:
After that Channa and I cycled off to the office for the last day of work.
We needed to finish as much of the end of cycle paperwork as possible today - 3 and a half weeks early. This involved writing a handover report for each subteam so that the next cycle knows where to pick up. For Employability subteam Connor took that job on, and then Boray and Heng translated it. Zaynab, Tey and I, as the M and E subcommittee, had to write the debrief report which sums up our achievements this cycle. Writing it in a day was only achieved because we actually haven't done a lot of the surveys of various partners and stakeholders, so we had whole sections we had to leave out. In the next few weeks the three of us would have surveyed host homes, community members, youth group students, participants etc, and all of that data would have gone in, too. It's been a fairly long and concentrated day!
I also spent a good hour or so sorting through all of the paperwork, resources and posters our subteam has produced, deciding what to keep and what to get rid of, and then sorting what we keep into an order that might be helpful to the next cycle. We have produced a lot of resources, so it was a lot to look at.

After that, the office was looking pretty bare, we shut up shop for for the last time and headed home.
I ate my last dinner with my host family - my host mum invited my grandma and aunt because I asked if they could come, which was lovely. I had my last night time shower, packed my case, watched a movie with Channa, and then tomorrow we leave community at midday.
All feeling very final Mol but seems like you all marked it well. 🙏 for your parting tomorrow xxx
