It begins...

So last night I ended the post happy to be in bed...

...about an hour later, I woke up and my stomach wasn't feeling so good. I put it off for a minute or two and tried to go back to sleep.

A few minutes later I was running to the bathroom - the journey involves a steep ladder and a fair distance in the dark - and proceeded to be very sick for about 3 hours. I had not woken Channa in my haste, but eventually she and the host family realised what was going on and she stood outside the door saying "Moli are you ok?" every few minutes. She asked me if I should go to the hospital.
I couldn't do much in the way of replying, but eventually at around midnight I was able to ask her to bring me some clean clothes, so I cleaned myself up a bit - I'd had to sit on the floor a lot and it's not the cleanest - and got back to bed at around 12.30.

I had messaged Evie about the sickness at about 9.30pm, and thankfully when I woke at around 6am she had messaged to tell me not to come into the office this morning, so I slept for another few hours and then had one of my Rehydration Sachets and showered.
Then I had to wash the clothes that I had been sick on by hand! - a very new experience.
At least I'm prepared for when I have to wash my other clothes. Surely it can't be worse than that??

Then some of the Khmer volunteers turned up to visit me, and we all went to the office together. I was feeling  but stronger and more settled by that point. This afternoon we did some finance training, for when we have to keep track of the money we spend in our sub teams.

We have been split into three subteams today - Volunteering, Employability and Entrepreneurship. Each team will lead sessions with mostly youth groups and schools to help them find the opportunities they need to have successful livelihoods. I am in the Employability subteam with 4 of the others.

(This is what I did yesterday to make sure I was represented in the office decorations! N.B. I only made the flag after someone else had made the English one)

After all that, it was just coming home. I haven't eaten anything today, even though Channa and the host family keep asking me to eat rice. It just doesn't feel safe yet. So I've just been chilling, writing this, being given random things by Sa, the little 4 year old boy in my family, and enjoying the evening temperature.
Who knew that 29 degrees could feel so comfortable!
