Not long now!

Its 16 days until I fly to Cambodia! While I'm out there I want to keep this blog so that people can be updated with the work that they have so kindly donated towards, and see how I'm getting on and stuff.
I'm hoping that starting now will help me to remember to do it while I'm there!
Today I spent some time shopping for some more supplies (I now have 7 bottles each of factor 50 suncream and 50% deet insect repellant) and tried to make a good list of what's in my case and what still needs to be in my case. My parents kindly gifted me a lot of what I need, and randomly - while we were in Liverpool as a family for New Year - Dad found a good sized sturdy case for me to take.
I'm trying to see people I need to see and do things I need to do before I go in the rapidly-disappearing time I have left.
I just want to see a huge thanks to everyone who donated. Your generosity means the target was smashed through a couple of weeks ago! I'm very excited to show you all what your money is going towards.

 Here are some pictures of the sunset this evening.  Not very much has happened today but I didn't want to skip posting too many times. This morning the Khmer had a meeting with our new VSO-Cambodia Provincial Officer. Sometimes so much happens in English that they get a bit left behind, so he was helping them make sure that they were clear on things. He's been very helpful this week - he only started on Monday. While they were doing that, we did some of our subteam work, but we mainly played Mafia - since the office is all one space we had to keep out of the way of the Khmer talk so we sat in one bit (the Employability team section) and played, just the UK members and Evie, our UK TL. Connor actually wasn't there as he wasn't feeling so good this morning. I might do a tour of the office at some point, just so you can see where I spend a lot of my time. First social

Working in community as I mentioned we get sorted into three subteams. We also get sorted into several sub-committees. These have different roles including Socials - organizing what we do on our day off per week together, Media - they collaborate with the wider ICS/VSO media team and make a video of our time here, or Farewell Event - they organise our 'leaving party' with our host families and other community members. I'm on M and E, looking after making sure all the paperwork and reporting we have to fill out is in order - I wanted a consistent workload. Cheyenne and Socheat are our Socials team, and today we had our first social. It didn't go amazingly - the plan was to go to a local pagoda/temple at 10 am. Off Home

I'm sat on the plane to Bangkok now - our first flight is one hour, our second is thirteen! Here's a quick summary of my day in pictures, because we're not far from taking off: Bike ride to the pagoda - Tim, Heng, Zaynab, Olivia, Tey and I cycled up to see the sunrise at 5.50 this morning. Last things at my amazing host home - last noodles for breakfast, cleaning our room, hanging out, last lunch, mast washing up, giving gifts. Goodbyes at the office -  The last things host mum gave me - more sweet potatoes. Airport stuff -  Next stop, Bangkok. Then on to London.  Truly gutted to be leaving.
